Haha, brilliant. This is the sort of thought that crossed my mind when SMH wrote about Penny Wong having a child with her “gay partner”…You know, as opposed to Penny Wong’s “straight partner”. Or the redundancy of things like people saying “I saw this movie where these two guys have gay sex.”

A “gay lunch” is differentiated from a straight lunch when it is ordered and/or consumed at a “gay pub” or “gay bar”.
But Greg, there are no gay pubs serving gay lunches in Bob Katter’s electorate…

That’s just lunch at a gay bar isn’t it? The lunch itself is not a specific type of lunch called “gay lunch”.
But in the world of people like Bob Katter there’d be a gay lunch at the gay bar.
A gay lunch sounds rather splendid, I might have to start calling all lunches that.
and instead of having a Golden Gaytime, we could just have a Golden Time. 😀
Maybe if it’s a really really happy and fun luncheon then it would be a gay lunch.
